Sometimes illusion is a question of hope... in people, in the world, in life itself and sometimes even in ourselves.
Sometimes illusion is a matter of fear, fear to face reality the way it is and lack of courage to change it for real.
Sometimes illusion is the way you find to feed your dreams. But it’s not the only one, it’s just the easiest.
Sometimes illusion is a question of accommodation and laziness. You pretend you have what you have not, to be what you are not, to love what you don’t love (and to not love what you do love) just to avoid the fight.
Sometimes illusion seems the only way. But it’s not. It never is. And illusion… illusion may be easier but it’s never (ever!) better. And in the end, illusion is just a waste of time… and life.
And how can we know what’s illusion and what’s for real? Feel. Just allow yourself to be what you are, to think what you really think, to want what you really want, to dream and fight and live your own dreams,… to… feel what you are genuinely feeling. No matter how hard it seems, no matter how stupid it seems, no matter if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else, no matter… anything else.
It’s amazing how easy it is to confuse reality and illusion. Reality doesn’t have to be the safest and fuller of sense way of life… in fact, most of the times it is not. Illusion doesn’t have to be the most incredible belief or the most amazing dream… because, sometimes, if we really dare to live it and fight for it… it really does come true. For real.
